Jessica Cuba

Jessica Cuba received her B.S. in Biological Sciences with honors in May, 2001.

Jess has contributed to many projects in the lab during her 12 months with us. She was instrumental in our SSR development successes. Her research on pollinators' effects on the correlations between floral traits is very exciting and is being written up for submission to Evolution.

Figure legend. Hawkmoths prefer whiter flowers with longer corolla tubes while hummingbids prefer shorter redder flowers. These preferences produce a negative genetic correlation between corolla tube length and corolla color among F3 families descended from natural pollination of F2 plants grown in situ (blue). Families descended from random mating among the same F2 individuals showed no such correlation (pink).
