Anthony Ippolito

Anthony Ippolito, Ph.D. 2000, is primarily responsible for all our Nicotiana data. Anthony established our Brazilian connections and field sites, conducted the field work in Brazil (with help from Tim, our Brazilian collaborators G. Wilson Fernandes & Daniel Tiscornia, and from Bruce Moreira, Tina Merrels and Allison Welch). Anthony also coordinated the common garden & glasshouse experiments in Missouri, photographed and measured a zillion flowers, crunched the data and wrote three manuscripts.

Anthony's dissertation had three chapters:

I. Systematics of Nicotiana

II. Pollinator preferences and relative fitness of Nicotiana alata, N. forgetiana and their F1 hybrids

III. Pollinator preferences cause a rapid genetic response of floral traits.
