RESEARCH INTERESTS:
The main focus of my thesis
research is directed towards the study of the evolution of signal production,
chorus formation and male-male interactions in anurans. I am also interested and
on the speciation processes and the evolution of call diversity in Neotropical
Hylids and Leptodactylids and in general topics of Tropical Ecology and
Conservation.
Currently I am using the
bird-voiced treefrog,
Hyla avivoca
and the Canyon treefrog, H.
arenicolor, from North America as my model systems for my questions on
male-male interactions, the production of aggressive calls and chorus formation.
