Arthropods Photo Album

Two handfuls of leaf litter, which is the size of a typical sample we take in June from the ground in an Ozark forest, contains many different kinds of insects, mites, and spiders, as shown here. Most individuals are small (0.5-4 mm) and almost invisible to the human eye.
